Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian German film and TV actress popular for her work in films like Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. The sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her showbiz career at a young age. She was a lead actress in dramas on television as young as the age of 16. The critically acclaimed character she played in the show Der Tunnel, Alexandra went onto play several other acclaimed role like Adolf's secretary Traudljunge for the film Downfall. Downfall was nominated for an Oscar and received critical acclaim. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex as well as The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films featuring the model. Alexandra is involved in several notable projects, at both a national and international level. This includes the British biographical film Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French historical miniseries Napoleon in addition to other projects. The actress also served on the jury for the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
